Job Title: Production Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Division: Production Engineering Sub Section, Production Engineering Section, Operations Department. EEOC Classification: Professionals
Reports To: Assistant Manager - Production Engineering
SUMMARY
This position will provide technical leadership and support to our Operations Section to ensure less downtime 
and greater efficiencies, specifically within the tester.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety - Ensure OSHA Safety requirements are met and improved plant condition as needed.
Hoshin Kanri - Based on Section targets, set your targets for your Performance Management Reviews.
FTA & PFMEA - Responsible to updated at each problem or process change.
Kaizen (plant wide) - Support Kaizen Section Manager with a percentage of your time.
Kaizen (PE) - Responsible for equipment and systems upgrades that are not Kaizen Section items.
Budget Management - Responsible for your project budgets as well as your section items monthly schedule of self work showing last months results and next month plan with your manager.
Production Engineering - Perform product and/or line specific support to our customer Mfg.
Unplanned Downtime - Responsible le for the reduction of unplanned downtime.
Manufacturing Feasibility - Support feasibility review of design changes and new designs.
ECI - Responsible for implement engineering changes and maintaining drawings in PE section.
TS16949 / ISO 14001 - Support our systems in satisfying all requirements.
Waste Reduction - Reduction activities including overproduction, muda, non value added, etc.
New Equipment / Lines - Responsible for completed setup, runoff, cycle times, and schedule control.
New Product / Process Preparation - Lead in creation of schedule, PPP, PPS, GED, Standard work, die change instruction sheets, PFMEA, and PV events.
M0 S1/2 - Conduct activity and follow up with monthly update to Assistant Manager PE.
Fixed Assets - Lead fixed asset items as well as some plant items.
Cycle times - Ensure that production rates and machine cycle times meet company targets.
Maintenance - Support equipment and repair (mechanical and electrical) using the Quality Components.
Environment - Coordinate with other sections and departments to ensure EPA compliance.
Will perform other reasonably related tasks within the Company as required by the Supervisor or Management.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge of electronic automotive manufacturing.
Knowledge of the Toyota Production System and JIT.
Electrical Engineering knowledge.

Will perform other related tasks within the company are required by the Supervisor or Management.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5 years of prior applicable experience in manufacturing preferred
Electronics experience preferred.
Automotive experience preferred.
Valid passport for travel required
ORGANIZATIONAL (AND OUTSIDE) RELATIONSHIPS
All other AEIL Departments and various outside vendors and customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents and occasionally heavy lifting.
Exposed to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury up to and including a fatality if safety measures are not followed and adhered to.
Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils.  The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas where under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment: gloves, safety goggles, hats, smocks
Open staff room with constant activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections.  Must be able to effectively change tasks at a moment's notice when the situation requires.
